Over the past year, since we launched The Noble Leader, I’ve been transparent about my commitment to personal development through assessment, coaching, and the daily practice of gratitude. These tools continue to support me as a business owner and executive coach and I see the tangible benefits for our clients, too.

Today, I want to introduce you to something a bit more non-traditional that has significantly impacted my life—Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) tapping. I know, I know. Some of you might be skeptical. But stick with me. EFT tapping, often referred to as “tapping,” has become an important part of my daily routine, especially since launching Noble Hill.

Research from reputable sources like Harvard Business Review supports the benefits of EFT tapping for productivity, focus, and decision-making—essential elements for business success. It’s just one of the many fascinating benefits this practice offers.

What is EFT Tapping?

EFT tapping is a simple yet powerful technique used to alleviate stress, anxiety, and negative emotions. It involves tapping with your fingertips on specific meridian points on the body while focusing on a particular issue or emotion. For those new to tapping, resources like The Tapping Solution offer guidance and support in learning the technique. Personally, I use the app for guided tapping and meditation, but you can just as easily tap on your own. It’s simple, free, and can be done anywhere—at work, before a meeting, or at home.

Tapping into Abundance and Combating the Scarcity Mentality

One of the most profound shifts I’ve experienced through tapping is moving from a scarcity mentality to an abundance mindset. Tapping helps me release mental blocks about not having enough—be it time, resources, or opportunities. This shift has enabled me to foster a greater sense of trust in myself and the process.

In business development, this abundance mindset translates into being open to new opportunities and nurturing relationships that support our business. When I tap on abundance, I feel more optimistic and resilient, directly impacting my approach to business challenges and opportunities.

It’s like gratitude in action. Tapping is a tool that can train the brain to appreciate what is going well, even during challenges.

Tony Robbins, a renowned life coach and motivational speaker, says, “The power of gratitude is that you can control your emotions by choosing what to focus on.” Simply put, what we focus on is what we experience. Tapping has helped me shift focus toward appreciation and away from limitations.

Tapping to Build Courage, Decisiveness & Creativity

Another area where tapping has made a significant difference is in cultivating courage and decisiveness. As a business owner and executive coach, I often face decisions that require confidence and clarity. Tapping helps me get into a state of flow and productivity by reducing the overwhelm and self-doubt that can accompany tough decisions.

As a coach, clients engage me because they want me to hold them accountable and challenge them in a safe and supportive way. Facilitating courageous conversations requires a clear mind and strong resolve, and tapping allows me to provide that level of support effectively.

Additionally, tapping boosts my creativity and sharpens my intuition. It enables me to develop creative solutions and strategies tailored to each client’s needs. This not only improves my effectiveness as a coach but also allows me to teach some clients how to tap, empowering them with stress management techniques and greater self-awareness.
